29 Jan Freemasons fund essential hoist equipment
The latest addition to the Freddie Farmer Foundation physiotherapy centre is the LiteGait Mobile Hoist system, a mobile partial weight bearing hoist that provides postural support and balance which can be used over ground or over a treadmill.
The hoist allows the therapist to manually assist the legs and pelvis of a child to achieve a good walking pattern enabling the child to build up their strength and endurance in a safe and supported environment. It also helps to control how much weight the child is putting through their legs while practising stepping and walking and it eliminates balance concerns and fear of falling.
The hoist was funded by the Freemasons of West Kent.
