Meet Lewie who is receieving paediatric physiotherapy at Freddie Farmer foundation in Bromley, Kent

Meet Lewie

Lewie was 7 years old when his parents discovered the Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre.

Lewie had asphyxia where choking blocked the airway for too long which resulted in depriving the brain of oxygen.

When assessed at The Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre in 2023, Lewie was found to have problems with motor and cognitive impairments

By the time Lewie came for his first session in November 2023 he needed a lot of support but now with the help of our wonderful physiotherapist Milo, Lewie has less bungees and no knee supports and is starting to hold his own weight.

Fast forward 14 months, Lewie’s confidence has increased and with the intensive physiotherapy we provide is now able to sit up on the floor unaided.

The progress that Lewie has made has had such an impact on himself and his family. His Mum Katy said: “As soon as Lewie went in the Spider cage with the bungees was an emotional one, Lewie hadn’t stood tall like that for over a year.

“Lewie works really hard but has lots of fun too, everyone at the Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre makes you feel welcomed, it’s like a big family that we are now part of and we will be forever thankful for what they’ve helped Lewie achieve so far and for what’s to come.”
