24 Jun O2e Visit to the Freddie Farmer Physio Centre
We were delighted to welcome members of O2e to the Freddie Farmer Physiotherapy Centre on Saturday 6 June.
It was a truly special visit, giving everyone the opportunity to meet 9-year-old Henry Cox, one of the inspiring children we are proud to support.
During the visit, our Physiotherapist Milo, alongside Physiotherapy Assistant Evie Chapman, and Henry, demonstrated how our Spider Cage and LokoHelp therapies work, offering a hands-on insight into the tailored support we provide for disabled children and the impact it can have on their strength, development and mobility.
It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the specialist support we provide to disabled children.
Paul Slattery, co-founder of O2e and its Chairman for 11 years, shared his reflections:
“It was great to see firsthand how O2e has made such a difference to the lives of so many disabled children. It’s been so inspiring to watch the Freddie Farmer Foundation charity grow over the years and to have played a small part in that journey. Seeing the impact up close encourages and motivates us to do even more.”
He added:
“The Freddie Farmer Foundation is deeply embedded in the DNA of O2e, and we’re incredibly grateful for the lasting partnerships and friendships we’ve built together.”
O2e has strong local roots in Beckenham, Kent. When members first heard about a specialist physiotherapy centre for disabled children opening in Bromley, they were keen to offer their support. Since 2014, O2e has raised an incredible £267,000 for the Foundation.
Their fundraising efforts have been as diverse as they are inspiring. From walking, running, cycling and swimming, to skiing, rowing, quizzing and even bog snorkelling, O2e members have embraced a wide range of challenges to help make a difference.
Most recently, over 50 participants completed a 23km London Bridges Walk, with plans already underway for another in May 2027. Looking ahead, O2e is also organising a fully supported 400km cycle ride to Luxembourg in early September, with around 85 riders already signed up—and more are always welcome.
There’s always something happening in the O2e community. If you’d like to learn more or get involved, you can contact Paul Slattery at slatts@o2e.org.
O2e’s mission is to improve the lives of children affected by disability or illness through fundraising, while inspiring people of all ages to embrace sport, adventure and new challenges.
